Removal
One email, no reason, nothing asked in return. Last updated 7 September 2026.
Not legal advice. These pages were drafted with care, but not by a solicitor. Before launch a solicitor should read all three. Anything in square brackets is a gap the owner has to close first.
What to send
Email register@ouridea.ai with the company number, and the address of the page if you have it to hand. Put Removal in the subject line. That is everything we need, and it is read by a person.
What we do not ask for
No reason
We do not ask why. You do not have to explain, justify or persuade anybody, and a bad reason works exactly as well as a good one. A directory you cannot leave is not a directory.
Nothing in return
There is no form to fill in, no call to sit through, no offer, no discount and no retention email. We will not ask you to link to us, to review us, or to consider a paid listing instead. Nothing is asked in return, at any point.
One question, at most
If we cannot tell which entry you mean, or cannot tell that the request comes from the company, we will ask one question so that we remove the right page. That is the only question you will get, and it is not a test you can fail.
What happens
One. We reply
Within five working days, confirming which entry is going and when. If we cannot action it that day, the reply says why and gives a date.
Two. The number goes on the suppression list
The register is rebuilt from a fresh copy of the official data every month. The suppression list is what stops the next pull putting the entry straight back. No reason is stored with it.
Three. The page goes at the next build
The company page, the row in the list, the pin on the map, the entry in the data file the site downloads and the line in the sitemap all go together. The old address then returns Not found.
Four. Search engines catch up
We can remove the page. We cannot make anyone else's index or cache forget it, and that usually takes a few weeks. If a stale result is causing a problem, tell us and we will help you report it to the search engine.
How long it takes
Removal happens at the next build, and the register rebuilds monthly. If that is too slow, say so and we will run a build for you. In any case it will be done within one calendar month of your request.
What removal does not do
It does not change the public register
Your company still appears on Companies House, or on whichever national register it sits on, with the full address. That record belongs to the state and only the register can change it. We are a copy of part of it, not the source.
It does not touch other directories
Other sites build their own lists from the same open data. Removing an entry here has no effect on any of them, and we cannot act for you with them.
You can come back
The number stays on the suppression list until you ask us to take it off. Ask, and the entry comes back at the next build.
If a correction would do instead
Register facts come from the register. If a name, address or status is wrong, correct it at Companies House, or at your national register, and the next monthly pull carries the correction through. If the error is on our side, such as the wrong website against your entry or a specialism we inferred badly, email us and we will fix that entry. Removal is always available, and asking for a correction first does not cost you the option.
